The room was neat with an electric kettle, central heating and an iron.

Great value for money and well-appointed unit with character.

The location was unbeatable and excellent, in the clearly popular restaurant, better than I ever had before. Moreover, it's so close to the pub, Penrith and Ullswater, and the Lakes.

The staff were very chatty, didn't expect that coming.

It was such a cozy spot, especially on the chilly weekend. The staff were amazing, going above and beyond to help us. We enjoyed delicious meals and the location is perfect, with another pub nearby. Loved the homemade pies!

Enjoyed cozy evenings by the fire, but plumbing noise was disruptive at night.

The breakfast selection featured a good vegan option and a "walkers breakfast" that was hot and flavorful, paired with fresh juices and coffee. The room offered a peaceful rural ambiance, with excellent cleanliness and a very comfy bed. Some additional amenities could enhance the stay, such as more variety in evening dining options. Limited accessibility to certain areas of the venue was also noted.

The lack of alternative milks for breakfast limited choices, forcing us to bring our own. Loud pump noises from the bathroom were disruptive, particularly from the saniflo system. Room soundproofing was poor. We could hear conversations and snoring from the adjacent rooms, which affected sleep quality. The existing decor felt refurbished on the cheap side, leaving it less appealing than expected.

Great food and cozy vibes

Stopped here for a night and loved it! The food was amazing, especially the garlic mushrooms with bacon, so tasty! The steak was perfectly cooked too. Just wish the room was a tiny bit bigger, but it was pretty and clean. Plus, they're dog friendly, a huge bonus for us.

What a good gem on our journey! The atmosphere was charming with cozy log fires and friendly staff. We enjoyed a really good breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. If there was one thing to improve, it would be to have a wider selection of vegetarian options on the dinner menu.

The food was delish and they had great gluten-free options. Our room was super cozy with everything we needed. Just wish the parking was a bit easier to find. Can't wait to come back on my next trip to Scotland!

Noise from the macerating toilet can be distracting, especially when showering early in the morning-definitely not the best wake-up call. There were also issues with breakfast options. Despite requesting vegan choices, they were unavailable, forcing a last-minute change of plans. The cleanliness of the room left something to be desired, with dust and dog hair noticeable in corners.

A Charming Stay with Great Service

We enjoyed a comfy twin room for two nights, situated in a peaceful area. The staff's friendliness, especially at the onsite restaurant, where we savored a delicious pie. Make sure to try their dessert for a sweet ending!

The atmosphere was lively, and we loved the evening entertainment. The shared kitchen was great for late-night snacks. It's a fantastic spot for a group getaway, just be aware that noise from plumbing can be an issue during your stay.
